Update from the Principal – 16th May

Update from the Principal

I hope everyone is well and having the least amount of disruption both at home and at work due to the road closures and changes with our online learning. Thank you for your patience with this and we look forward to returning to school on Sunday 19th May.

As normal this time of year, we will announce to all parents the staff that are leaving our school and those that are joining. This will be included in next week’s Update from the Principal, Thursday 23rd of May, a great opportunity to welcome new staff into our community and wish those leaving the school the very best on their next adventure.

This week we have enjoyed the parent meetings to discuss the progress of your children, the successes along the way and areas to keep improving. It has been an absolute pleasure to see so many parents visit the school and we are very grateful for your support and participation in these meetings as we discuss the next steps for all students. I am very proud of every single student and it has been great to walk around during the evenings and hear the positive conversations, feel the warm atmosphere and it has been very helpful. Thank you to all parents.

Thank you to the parents who also joined us for Exit Points during this week. It has been fantastic to see students present and showcase what they’ve been learning.

We have celebrated Pi Day this week and amazed by the students getting involved and thoroughly impressed with the skills on show remembering Pi to many places! This really brings a good sense of learning and fun together and a spotlight again on Mathematics.

Some of our events this week have been rescheduled due to online learning, thank you in advance for your support with this as many of the events need to be face to face and just not the same if we tried to replicate these online.

This weekend we have our Swim meet on Saturday starting at 9am!

Next week we have our book fair all week, our HPL Parent Presentation and Science Fair on Monday, the Matilda tickets will be on sale from Tuesday (more information to follow) and U14 Girls Basketball on Wednesday. Then weekend fun again at the NetFest on Saturday 25th May! A great event we are all looking forward to and hopefully we can all get involved.

Have a great weekend!

Urgent Communication

All urgent updates continue to be sent via email or SMS for emergencies (School Closure).

Please monitor your emails for future updates as this continues to be the best way to send out clear and consistent communication to all parents. Check that you are receiving emails, have enough space in your email folder, that they do not go to your ‘junk’ folder and if you are unsure, please contact info@nadeenschool.com, see reception or phone on +97317728886 to personally check your contact email and phone number on record.

If you change any contact details, please inform the school immediately.

Health and Safety

All urgent Health and Safety announcements will be sent directly to parents via email.

We will continue to work together to follow all health and precautionary measures to prevent the spread of diseases as recommended by the Ministry of Health specialists. Together with your constant cooperation and taking responsibility by keeping your children at home when feeling ill, will also have a significant impact in limiting the spread of diseases.  Thank you to all members of the community in advance for this.

Please keep your child at home if he/she is ill, has flu or cold symptoms

Virtual Learning

Last year it was announced that it is no longer mandatory for schools to provide Virtual Learning for students, shared by the Ministry of Education in August 2022.

The Ministry of Education has announced that the syllabus system for the coming academic year 2022/23 in all kindergartens, schools, universities, government and private educational institutions at all stages will be mandatory attendance for all students.  The ministry clarified that there would be no choice for parents to attend their children to receive in-person or remotely learning, assuring its keenness to provide for all the requirements for a successful back to school.

At Nadeen School, following the announcement from the Ministry above, our provision for learning will be on site.
