Update from the Principal

Dear Parents,

Wow – an incredible year comes to an end.

A great week to wrap things up with movie afternoons, exit points and prize day! – It is always a wonderful way to finish the year with celebrating student successes, saying thank you and also having lots of fun! Throughout the year we have had plenty of opportunities to do this.

Prize day yesterday was an amazing success. Thank you. The prize day was to recognise our amazing students. They have had an excellent year and each week we have been impressed, proud and overwhelmed by their passion, talents and efforts across all subjects, projects, activities, trips, and events. They have embraced all challenges this year, approached them with a smile, together with friends and it has been an absolute privilege to watch them grow, develop, and now receive awards from our fantastic teachers.

We are very fortunate to work with such amazing teachers. I can safely say that the teachers we have in school are incredible, the time, dedication, and energy they put in each and every day for the students is truly astonishing. They care deeply about all students every single day and ensure that there are many exciting opportunities for all students. Through the enthusiasm, energy, and joy from our staff, you can feel how happy students are to attend school each day. Thank you very much to our teachers for what you have done all throughout this year and for creating such a positive atmosphere.

We are very grateful for how our parents have worked closely with our teachers, giving all children thoughtful help, and guidance especially throughout this year. Thank you to everyone in the community for supporting the school, encouraging the students and for your unwavering commitment to the team throughout this entire year. It is very much appreciated.

It has been a year of transition into our new campus and we are overall happy with the way in which our students, families and staff have settled into our new community here in Dilmunia. We started off prioritising Safety, Students and Learning Opportunities and slowly and steadily built from there.

Moving into a new school location, new campus, over 50% new students, routines, new subjects/specialist areas and extra events has gone relatively smoothly overall. Welcoming all of these new students into the school and maintaining this caring, purposeful and supportive approach has been a magnificent achievement. The students have been wonderful and the way they have made others feel welcome has been a joy to see!

We should all feel very proud as members of the Nadeen School community. From drop off at the start of the day, to lessons, learning and wider experiences beyond the classroom it has been a real team effort.  With over 150 events throughout the year, many after school activities, fixtures and weekends we have offered something for everyone.

These 12 months have seen a whole host of firsts. These would not have been possible without the hard work, dedication and commitment by everyone. As mentioned we have had a multitude of events, offering students exciting opportunities, experiences and further promoting the school beyond the outstanding lessons in the classroom. We’ve had winter, spring and summer performances, an amazing sports season, and set up a comprehensive ECA program in which 80% of the students participated in at least one ECA per week. This shows incredibly high levels of engagement in what we offer.

The student and parent surveys have shown a tremendous amount of positivity, support and trust throughout all of these challenges and changes. We have some good strengths to maintain and areas identified to keep working hard on, step by step and together we will keep improving.

We are excited to be hosting numerous summer camps at Nadeen this year. Please click here to view the summer camps on offer. If you have any questions or queries, please feel free to contact the summer camp providers directly.

Please remember the first key dates for the next school year:

Sunday 25th August: Orientation Day
Monday 26th August: First Day of School

A full calendar for all term dates for next year can be found here.

On a personal note, thank you for making this such an enjoyable, interesting and successful 2 years. I am very grateful for all of your help, patience and support. We have an incredible group of families at Nadeen School and the community will continue to go from strength to strength.

Have a restful, relaxing and recharging summer!

With sincere thanks,

Dr Paul Walton

Virtual Learning

Last year it was announced that it is no longer mandatory for schools to provide Virtual Learning for students, shared by the Ministry of Education in August 2022.

The Ministry of Education has announced that the syllabus system for the coming academic year 2022/23 in all kindergartens, schools, universities, government and private educational institutions at all stages will be mandatory attendance for all students.  The ministry clarified that there would be no choice for parents to attend their children to receive in-person or remotely learning, assuring its keenness to provide for all the requirements for a successful back to school.

At Nadeen School, following the announcement from the Ministry above, our provision for learning will be on site.
