Mr. James’ Weekly Reflection – 16 October

Dear Nadeen Family,

As we head into the half term break, I think it’s safe to say we’ve earned a little rest, but what a fantastic (and very pink!) week it’s been at Nadeen!

Let’s start with a true highlight, Jess in Year 7 is spending her half term break climbing to Everest Base Camp! While most of us will be relaxing with a coffee or catching up on sleep, Jess will quite literally be taking things to new heights! Let’s show her some Nadeen love and cheer her on from afar. I know it will mean the world to her to feel our support as she treks through the Himalayas. You can track her progress and send her messages of encouragement here:

I would like to thank you for taking the time to complete our recent survey and for sharing your thoughts and feedback. Your input is invaluable and helps us continue to grow and improve together. You’ll notice that our upcoming workshops have been shaped around the themes and areas you highlighted, ensuring we continue to address what matters most and keep everyone up to date with key developments. As always, please don’t hesitate to reach out through our communication matrix if you have any questions or concerns as open dialogue and collaboration are central to how we work at Nadeen. Thank you once again for your continued commitment and engagement.

Now, onto Think Pink Thursday, and what a day that was! The school was bursting with creativity, laughter, and a whole lot of pink. From finger painting and tissue-paper flowers in Years 1–3 to poetry, posters, and ribbons of hope from Years 4–6, our learners truly embraced the theme of compassion and kindness. It wasn’t just pink, it was powerful! The way our learners connected the activities to our Values, Attitudes, and Attributes (VAA’s) showed once again the depth of empathy and thoughtfulness across our school.

We also took time to celebrate excellence at our Secondary Commendation Evening from the last academic year, joined by our special guest Ms. Kate Fellowes. It was a genuinely lovely event. A mix of pride, laughter, and well deserved recognition for our learners’ achievements. Sport has been equally vibrant this week! Our swim squad made waves with fantastic results at the recent swim meet, we proudly hosted the U19 Table Tennis Tournament on campus, and our U13 girls’ netball team played brilliantly against BSB. I was super impressed with the energy, teamwork, and determination on display.

To top it all off, our ‘Understanding Your Child’s Learning Journey’ session received glowing feedback from parents. Many spoke of how happy their children are, how inspired they feel by our teachers, and how palpable the positivity is around the school. That’s something we can all take pride in and it’s the essence of Nadeen.

So, whether you’re climbing mountains like Jess, relaxing by the pool, or simply enjoying some downtime with friends and family, let’s take a moment to reflect on how far we’ve come already this term. Thank you, learners, families and staff for your passion, energy, and the fun you bring to our community every day.

Have a fantastic (and well-deserved!) half term break, Nadeen wolfpack, you’ve earned it!
