Mr. James Weekly Reflection – 6th February

Dear Nadeen Family,

What a remarkable week it has been! From the thrilling performances at the BSME Games to our vibrant International Week celebrations and the exciting BSME Ocean STEM event, we have seen the very best of what makes our community so special.

Firstly, a huge congratulations to our BSME athletes who represented Nadeen with skill, determination, and outstanding sportsmanship. Special recognition goes to:

    • Boys Volleyball Team – 3rd place in a highly competitive tournament.
    • Boys Athletics Team – 2nd place overall, an incredible achievement.
    • Arthur – Silver in High Jump & 800m
    • Aiden – Silver in Javelin & Bronze in Shot Put
    • 4x100m Relay Team (Arthur, Peter, Jason, Aiden) – Bronze Medal
    • Most importantly, Nadeen School was awarded the ‘Fair Play’ award for demonstrating the best sportsmanship and team spirit across the entire weekend. This is a true testament to our values and certainly makes my heart sing with pride.

I can tell you first hand that attending such wonderful events like the BSME Games is an incredible opportunity to be part of something truly special. It is an experience to treasure and one that not only creates lifelong memories, but also nurtures essential skills such as teamwork, determination, and sportsmanship. And, of course, just a touch of grit! Well done to all our athletes, and thank you to the PE team and additional staff for their support and efforts.

Today, a group of our enthusiastic Year 5 and 6 learners proudly represented Nadeen School at the BSME Ocean STEM event at St Christopher’s School. Working in teams of four, our learners showcased their creativity and problem-solving skills, developing innovative solutions to key environmental challenges. This hands-on experience empowered them to think critically about conservation while collaborating with peers from other schools. We are incredibly proud of their dedication to making a difference for a more sustainable future!

Meanwhile back at Nadeen, International Week has been a powerful celebration of the diversity that enriches our school daily and is something that is so amazing to be able to experience as a Principal in such a wonderfully inclusive international school. From the Opening Ceremony, where our learners proudly represented their home countries, to the engaging classroom activities exploring different cultures, we have seen our values of inclusivity and global awareness come to life – concern for society.

The week concluded with today’s International Food Festival, a spectacular display of community spirit. A heartfelt thank you to the Friends of Nadeen and our wonderful parents who contributed their time, energy, incredible dishes and your generosity made this event truly special. Ms. Pauline attended and brought her own energy to the event as only Pauline could. She would like to say to all the staff and parents that arranged, contributed, participated in, managed, organised, and supported our most wonderful International Food Festival, a heartfelt Thank You. To Pauline, when are you coming in to do some reading? Yes, I am calling you out…

A big thank you from me to all staff that supported International Week, events, and the BSME Games. Your dedication and hard work have made these experiences memorable for our learners and our community. These are the moments to treasure for us all and as we reflect on these moments, it is clear that Nadeen is more than just a school. We are indeed a community that thrives on collaboration, respect, and a shared passion for learning and just being who we are and who we wish to be. Thank you to everyone who contributed to making this week so memorable. Your efforts continue to inspire and shape the positive environment we cherish at Nadeen which is something I really am grateful for.

Wishing you all a restful and enjoyable weekend, especially Ms. Kate.
