Mr. James’ Weekly Reflection – 11 September

Dear Nadeen family,
This week at Nadeen has been a showcase of what makes our community truly unique, quite literally, as Arnold (Arnie), our school dog, stole the show in Monday’s assembly. His message? Be yourself. Arnie, with his wagging tail and infectious personality, is the perfect reminder of ourVAA of Confidence, knowing who you are, owning it, and being proud of it.
On Saturday, our Head of MFL and Events Manager stepped into the cultural world of Alliance Française Bahrain. This partnership is more than just access to French resources, it’s about fostering Open-mindedness and Curiosity, giving our linguists (and French native speakers) the chance to dive deeper into language and culture. A free digital platform is the cherry on top, an open door to new horizons.
By Thursday, leadership was in the spotlight as our Head Boy and Head Girl applicants prepared to share their speeches. These moments capture the essence of Resilience and Agility: young people standing up in front of their peers, using their voice, and embracing challenge with courage and authenticity. Primary also had its moment of pride this week with our first Celebratory Assemblies of the year. Parents watched as learners beamed with joy while receiving the Wolf of the Week award. Here, we saw Empathy and Collaboration come alive, children cheering for one another, parents celebrating together, and the whole community wrapping itself in positivity.

For our Year 11s, the GCSE Information Evening marked an important milestone. Learners are stepping into their final school year with determination, backed by a new team of teachers and the support of their parents. Their journey ahead requires all three core VAAs: Confidence to aim high, Resilience to push through challenges, and Agility to adapt along the way. Sports trials continued across our squads this week, with Secondary learners showing grit, skill, and teamwork. Each trial was not just about ability, but about demonstrating the HPL Attitudes of Practice and Perseverance, turning up, giving your best, and supporting your teammates.
Arnie, our four-legged friend who embodies Empathy better than anyone else. This week he has been busy welcoming learners, calming worries, and spreading joy. Soon, he’ll even be helping with reading, an imaginative leap that speaks to the HPL Attribute of Creativity.
Looking ahead, we are excited to join the 5th Annual Dilmunia Cancer Awareness Walkathon on 10th October at 3PM. Events like these remind us of our responsibility to show Concern for Society, walking together, supporting a vital cause, and turning Dilmunia bright pink in solidarity.
A week filled with learning, laughter, leadership, and compassion, and through it all, the ‘Nadeen Way’ have shone brightly. That’s what makes the Nadeen community special.
