Mr. James’ Weekly Reflection – 22 January 2025

Dear Nadeen Family,

This week has been a wonderful celebration of who we are as a school and the journey we continue to take together. As we marked Nadeen School’s 48th birthday, it was a special moment to reflect on our rich history, our shared values, and the vibrant community that continues to grow and thrive.

Our birthday celebrations reminded us that being part of Nadeen means being a Nadeen Superhero — looking out for one another, stepping up when it matters, and ensuring that no one is ever left behind. These values are at the heart of our HPL culture, fostering curiosity, resilience, collaboration, and the courage to take responsibility for our own learning and the wellbeing of others.

It was a pleasure to welcome Ms Pauline and Mr Bradley to join us for this important milestone. Their feedback was overwhelmingly positive and reinforced how far we have come as an all-through school, while highlighting the strength of our learner-centred approach and our commitment to nurturing every child’s potential.

We are also immensely proud of the many achievements across the school this week. Completing our first-ever set of Year 11 mock examinations is a significant milestone, reflecting not only the strength of our systems but also the growth mindset and independent learning our learners are developing.

Sport continues to go from strength to strength, supporting both HPL skills and community engagement. Our learners achieved outstanding success at the Under 13 and Under 15 SSL Athletics, winning an incredible 45 medals. This Saturday, we head off on our first-ever ski trip to Italy, providing another opportunity for learners to develop resilience, teamwork, and adaptability in new challenges. Next week, we host PSL Under 11 Athletics, supporting preparation for the Under 11 BSME Athletics in Muscat. We are also proud that several Under 13 and Under 15 netball players have been selected into the Bahrain long squad for Inter-Gulf competition. These successes show how talent, preparation, and collaboration come together to strengthen both individual learners and our wider school community.

As we celebrate, I would like to raise awareness about keeping our community safe. Please take extra care when driving to and from school, avoid speeding, remain off mobile phones, and model safe behaviour for our learners. Safety is a shared responsibility, and together we can protect our community.

Weeks like this remind us that Nadeen is more than a school. Through excellence in learning, sport, and community, we nurture not only knowledge and skills, but also character, curiosity, and a sense of belonging. Thank you for your continued trust, support, and belief in what we are building together.

Finally, for all those that missed Mr. Jack’s amazing assembly don’t forget to tune in next week and he has promised to sing us a song. Can’t Wait!

Kind regards,
