Mr. James’ Monthly Reflection 29 January 2025

End of Month Reflection & Looking Ahead

Dear Nadeen Family,

What a month it has been at Nadeen! As we wrap up another busy and rewarding period, I wanted to take a moment to celebrate some of our highlights and give you a peek at what’s coming next.

This month was extra special as we celebrated Nadeen’s 48th birthday! It was a fantastic opportunity to honour our rich history while enjoying the buzz of our vibrant, forward-looking community. Seeing learners, staff, and families come together reminded me why Nadeen is such a WOLF pack, a community that thrives on empathy, collaboration, inclusivity, and belonging. Together, we Work, Observe, Learn and Flourish, supporting one another every step of the way.

On the academic front, we hit an exciting milestone by hosting mock examinations for the first time. It was a chance for learners to test themselves, build resilience, and practise goal-setting, all key Values, Attitudes and Attributes (VAAs) in action. Our Year 11 learners will be seeing their results on Monday evening, an important checkpoint as they sharpen their strategies for success.

Our sporting stars have been out in full force this term. We were proud to host our first Under 11 BSME Netball Event, welcoming schools from across the GCC and showcasing Nadeen’s growing presence within the BSME sporting community. Our learners also achieved outstanding success in athletics, returning with an impressive 45 medals from the Senior Sports League Athletics Meet, alongside 8 medals from the Primary Sports League Athletics Meet, a fantastic reflection of their commitment, perseverance, and teamwork.

We are also incredibly proud to celebrate Yara Hashem, who represented Bahrain at the 30th GCC Swimming Championship in Abu Dhabi. Yara delivered an outstanding performance, securing four medals across the competition: silver in the 400m freestyle relay, silver in the 400m freestyle individual, gold in the 400m medley relay, and bronze in the 50m backstroke individual.

On top of that, several of our Under 13 and Under 15 netball players have been selected for the Bahrain long squad ahead of the Inter-Gulf competition, a brilliant reflection of their skill, confidence, and determination. Looking ahead, we are excited to share that Nadeen will be participating in the BSME Under 11 Games in Muscat from 4–8 February.

Beyond exams and medals, our learners have been exploring, growing, and thriving in other ways too. The Secondary ski trip to Italy offered adventure, teamwork, and a little challenge. The perfect recipe for independence and resilience. Back on home turf, our Thrive road safety initiative was, quite honestly, magical. Helping learners build awareness, responsibility, and practical skills for staying safe in the real world.

Looking ahead, we are excited that Post-16 admissions are now open, with Nadeen offering A-Levels and BTECs. These pathways give learners the chance to chase their passions, pursue their strengths, and prepare for a future that’s truly theirs.

We’ve also got some thrilling events coming up: the Bahrain Eco Summit on Wednesday, 11 February, where Nadeen will host schools from across the Kingdom, and International Week on Thursday, 12 February, celebrating diversity, curiosity, and global connection. And of course, I can’t wait to see families at our Meet with the Principal session on 3 February – a perfect chance to connect, chat, laugh, and maybe even share a little secret about what makes Nadeen special!

As Winston Churchill once said, “Success is not final, failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts.” At Nadeen, our learners live this every day, working hard, reflecting thoughtfully, and flourishing fearlessly, supported by our whole WOLF pack.

Thank you, as always, for being part of our journey. Together, we’re building a school where learners work hard, observe thoughtfully, learn passionately, and flourish fearlessly.
