Mr. James’ Weekly Reflection – 27 November

Dear Nadeen Family,

As we head into the weekend, I have to say – I am very excited for our Festive Fair. Last year it was one of my absolute favourite events of the entire year. In fact, it was so good that even Santa was taking notes… and I can assure you there has been plenty happening behind the scenes to make this year’s celebration just as magical. I do hope you will come along and enjoy the day with us.

A special shoutout to Rivers and Wilder, who took part in the triathlon at Marassi Beach last week. They absolutely smashed it, finishing first and second! I was there to watch them race, and they were outstanding. Super proud, well done both!

Thank you to our Secondary team for the Y9 Curriculum Pathways and the Y10 Learner Conferences on Monday the 24th. Both were detailed, informative, and tackled those burning questions with clarity. The feedback from parents has been incredibly positive, another excellent example of the quality secondary experience we are committed to delivering.

Speaking of memorable experiences, our Address Hotel Master Chef event for Y9 and Y10 GCSE Food & Nutrition learners was a standout moment this week. Cooking alongside executive chefs is no small thing, and when the learners returned to school they were absolutely buzzing, several asked when they could go again! I don’t know about you, but I love to cook… or perhaps I should say, I loaf being the chef.

Our Year 1 learners also had a fantastic hands-on day at Sama Bay, combining mindfulness, creative sand art, and a beach clean-up. They were able to see how small actions can make a real difference, what a wonderful way to bring their enquiry learning to life!

Sport continues to be a real source of excitement at Nadeen. I hope you’ve been following Mr. Matt’s weekly rundown, it’s been a big week:

  • Secondary Sports Day – Thursday 27th
  • U15 BSME Games in Cairo – Huge congratulations to Peter in Y9 for winning Silver in High Jump
  • U11 Girls Football – Winners of the PSL Football Competition!
  • U11 Boys Football – Results to be confirmed

I also want to add a big thank you to our Parent Board, who met with me this week. It was genuinely a lovely meeting with lovely people. Thank you for your support, for me and for Nadeen. It truly means a great deal.

It’s been a week full of energy, creativity, and moments worth celebrating across the school. I look forward to seeing many of you at the Festive Fair, let’s make it another highlight of the year.

Kind regards,

#GrowTogetherThriveAsOne
