This week at Nadeen | 7 May 2026

Dear Nadeen Family
It has been another rich and rewarding week across our school, with learning, growth and celebration evident across the school. From the curiosity and creativity of our youngest learners and our Secondary learners preparing for competitions and important milestones, there is a real sense of pride in every corner of our campus.
The updates below reflect not only academic progress, but also the resilience, ambition and spirit that make our Nadeen community so special. We are continually inspired by the way our learners embrace challenges, celebrate success and support one another at every stage of their journey.
Primary update from Ms. Lianne
This week, school has been filled with active and engaging learning experiences across both Early Years and Primary. It has been wonderful to see our youngest learners so curious and enthusiastic, particularly as they explored topics such as volcanoes, where the children were completely amazed by what they were observing and discovering. The excitement, questioning and sense of wonder seen in classrooms truly reflected our love of enquiry and learning.
Across Primary, there is also a real sense of excitement building around the upcoming shows and performances. Hearing teachers collaborate creatively as they plan memorable and magical moments for our learners and families has been incredibly special. We are very much looking forward to sharing these experiences with you over the next month.
This week, I also spent time visiting Year 3 and Year 4 to see reading in action. It was a pleasure to listen to the learners during their echo reading sessions and to hear the impressive vocabulary they are developing through their immersion in poetry. The confidence, expression and enjoyment shown by the children were wonderful to see and are a real reflection of the positive reading culture continuing to grow across the school.
Please do take the time to ask your child about the book they are reading this week. We always love hearing learners talk enthusiastically about their reading journeys.
Secondary update from Mr. Paul
A group of Year 7 learners have been busy preparing to represent Nadeen at the Chinese Proficiency Competition for Foreign Secondary School Students, taking place on Saturday 16th May. Chinese Bridge is a flagship event in Chinese education and an important platform for learners to demonstrate their Chinese language ability, understanding of Chinese culture and overall competence.
This is the first time that Nadeen School has been invited to attend this event, following the introduction of Mandarin into the Year 7 languages curriculum earlier this academic year. We wish our Year 7 representatives the very best of luck in their preparations.
Next week promises to be an emotional one for our Year 11 learners as they approach their final week at Nadeen. Plans are already in place to celebrate their time at the school during their Leavers’ Assembly next week. No doubt this will be an emotional occasion for staff, Year 11 learners and their parents.
As we prepare to say goodbye to Year 11, we also begin to welcome our Year 6 learners, who will start to spend time in the Secondary School as part of their transition into the next phase of their educational journey. We are all looking forward to meeting and welcoming them over the coming weeks.
Thrive update from Ms. Suzanne
Today, our Thrive Swimming sessions resumed after a long break, and it was wonderful to see our learners back in the water once again.
The programme focuses on individualised skill development for each swimmer, helping learners rebuild confidence, comfort and trust in the water at their own pace. Sessions incorporate sensory integration approaches while also supporting coordination, regulation, balance and the development of motor skills.
For many learners with additional needs, swimming offers much more than physical exercise. The water can provide a calming sensory experience, support body awareness and create opportunities for regulation in ways that feel natural and enjoyable. The rhythm, movement and predictability of the pool environment can help reduce anxiety while building confidence, independence and resilience.
Swimming also creates space for communication, connection and achievement. Small successes in the water often boost self-esteem beyond the pool, encouraging learners to try new things, take safe risks and celebrate personal progress. Lessons are offered in 1:1 and 2:1 formats and are guided by specialised swim instructors who understand and support each learner’s unique needs.
A calm, joyful and encouraging return, with many proud little moments already seen in the pool today.
Below you will find a few important reminders and updates for the week ahead.

Work Experience Week
We are currently exploring work experience placements for our Year 10 and Year 11 learners, taking place between 31st May and 4th June.
Work experience is an important opportunity for learners to develop key skills, gain insight into the workplace and make informed decisions about their future pathways.
If you are able to offer a placement, or know of a suitable opportunity, please complete the survey below.
