This week at Nadeen | 30 April 2026

Dear Nadeen Family
It has been another uplifting week across our school as we continue to see our campus buzzing with energy, curiosity and connection. There is a real sense of momentum building as learners settle into routines, reconnect with friends and immerse themselves in meaningful learning experiences.
Primary update from Ms. Lianne
It has been a truly wonderful week across Primary and Early Years, with the continued return of even more of our learners to school. There is something incredibly special about seeing our youngest children arriving each morning with the biggest smiles, running in with excitement and greeting us with such genuine warmth. Those moments of joy and connection have certainly been a highlight of my week.
One of my favourite parts of the week has also returned – our Wolf Pack Lunch. Spending time with our ‘Wolf of the Week’ learners is always a privilege. These moments give us the opportunity to celebrate their achievements, talk about their learning and, most importantly, listen to their ideas. I am always inspired by the thoughtful ways they share how we can continue to make learning even better at Nadeen.
Across the classrooms, there has been a strong and purposeful focus on developing writing. It has been fantastic to see learners embracing this with such enthusiasm, allowing their imaginations to flourish and their confidence as writers to grow. From our youngest storytellers in Early Years to our more experienced writers in Primary, the creativity and pride in their work have been a joy to see.
We are looking forward to building on this momentum in the weeks ahead, with many more opportunities for our learners to explore, create and shine.
Secondary update from Mr. Paul
It has been another busy and positive week in the Secondary School as more learners continue to return to campus. We are also mindful of those learners who remain online in different time zones and who continue to engage so well with our remote learning provision. Their commitment and resilience have been commendable.
Although our Year 11 learners will not be sitting their GCSE examinations this summer, they are currently focused on finalising their evidence portfolios as they approach their final few weeks at Nadeen as Year 11 learners. We are incredibly proud of the maturity and responsibility they have shown during this period. We are also very much looking forward to welcoming them back in August as our first ever Year 12 cohort, marking an exciting new chapter in our school’s journey.
Today, we were delighted to welcome Mr. Rich McConnell to lead our Secondary assembly. Rich delivered an inspiring presentation centred on human performance and its application, drawing on his experiences climbing Mount Everest. He explored themes such as the pillars of performance, training, altitude adaptation, fuel and hydration, cognitive performance, resilience and the importance of managing risk and stress. A particularly powerful message for our learners was that you do not need to be a high-performing athlete to benefit from these performance strategies. His talk offered valuable insights into preparation, mindset and perseverance, both in sport and in life. Our sincere thanks to Rich for giving his time so generously.
Looking ahead, an exciting opportunity will take place between the 31st of May and 4th of June, when Year 10 and Year 11 learners will have the opportunity to participate in work experience. Work experience plays a vital role in helping learners develop key skills, gain insight into the world of work and make more informed decisions about their future pathways.
We would greatly appreciate your support with this initiative. If you are able to offer a placement, or know of a suitable opportunity, please complete the brief survey below.

Thrive update from Ms. Suzanne
Building Big Ideas (and Even Bigger Bridges!)
Our Thrive learners have been busy turning their classroom into a mini engineering world, complete with bridges, roads and plenty of creative problem-solving along the way.
There was lots of experimenting with varied materials and rethinking as learners designed and built their own structures. But the real excitement? Putting their bridges to the test. Using toy cars, they explored fair testing, checking how much weight their bridges could handle, making tweaks and trying again. Some held strong, some needed a rethink… and that’s where the best learning happened.
Moments like these are especially powerful for our neurodiverse learners. Hands-on STEAM experiences open up many ways to engage (social communication and regulation) – building, observing, talking, testing and trying again. It gives every learner a chance to shine in their own way, building confidence, independence and those all-important problem-solving skills.
There was a real buzz in the room – curiosity, teamwork and lots of proud smiles as ideas came to life (and sometimes wobbled a little at first!).
Below you will find a few important reminders and updates for the week ahead.
