Mr. James’ Weekly Reflection – 20 November

Dear Nadeen Family, 

This week has been a vibrant showcase of learning, opportunity, and community spirit across Nadeen School. We are eagerly preparing for our Year 9 Curriculum Pathways Event next week, ensuring families feel fully informed and supported as their children move toward crucial academic decisions. In Primary, our Stay & Learn sessions from Year 1 to Year 6 continue to strengthen the connection between home and school, giving parents an authentic window into classroom life.

Sport has once again been a source of pride. This weekend, 16 of our athletes travel to Cairo to compete in the U15 BSME Games, representing Nadeen on the regional stage, we wish them the very best of luck. Closer to home, our U11 Boys Basketball and U11 Girls Football teams hosted BSB and St Christopher’s for another friendly tournament. Congratulations to all learners involved for their teamwork and determination.

Last week also saw the launch of Ecoventure 2025, with exciting residential opportunities for Year 5 and 6 learners to travel to the UAE, and for Years 7 to 9 to explore Sri Lanka, an enriching extension of our commitment to experiential learning. Our ‘Future Me’ Careers Event on Wednesday 19th was a particular highlight, where we were privileged to welcome The British Ambassador, Alastair Long. We sincerely appreciated his time and the valuable insights he shared with our learners, helping inspire them as they consider their future career pathways.

On Sunday 16th, our Year 8 Learner Conference provided valuable opportunities for self-reflection, goal setting, and personal development. We were proud to mark Breast Cancer Awareness Month through our Think Pink Assembly, raising 1,765 BHD through community generosity. Our contribution to the Poppy Appeal amounted to 67.5 BHD, reflecting our continued respect for global remembrance efforts. We also look forward to the Bahrain Marathon Relay on Friday 21st November, where our learners, staff, and parents will once again represent the Nadeen spirit.

A special highlight this week was the participation of four of our learners, Yasmeen (Year 7), Tasneem (Year 8), Mahmood (Year 10), and Ghena (Year 11), who attended a Ministry led lecture alongside more than 700 participants. Selected by the Arabic Department for their confidence and outstanding Arabic communication skills, these learners represented Nadeen with distinction. We are incredibly proud of them.

Looking ahead, we are excited for our Festive Fair on Friday 28th November. I do hope you will come and enjoy this wonderful event with us, it was one of my favourites last year!

As we move forward, we continue to celebrate the achievements and efforts of our learners, staff, and community. Thank you for your ongoing support and for helping make Nadeen a place where every learner thrives.
