Mr. James’ Weekly Reflection – 30 October

Dear Nadeen Family,

This week has been a wonderful start to the half term, with our learners returning full of enthusiasm and energy. Classrooms have been alive with purposeful learning, and it has been a pleasure to see everyone settle straight back into routines.

Our Early Years learners have returned with confidence and excitement, eager to continue their learning journeys. FS2 children are getting ready to take their reading books home, proudly demonstrating the fantastic progress made in phonics and early reading during the first half term. This is a significant milestone, and we could not be prouder of their achievements.

FS1 children have been busy exploring and engaging in play based learning, and they are now getting to know our PE team as they prepare to begin specialist lessons in the coming weeks. The curiosity and enthusiasm across EYFS has been wonderful to see.

In Primary, the children have started their new English focus books, and the standard of writing already emerging is exceptional. The progress and creativity on display are a source of real pride. Families are encouraged to explore the writing galleries around school to celebrate these achievements.

Thank you to our parents for the generosity shown throughout Pinktober. Your support has been overwhelming. We have raised a significant amount, and our accounts team is still counting donations. We look forward to sharing the final total with you next week.

Our focus on kindness has continued, with learners taking part in random acts of kindness across the school. Some classes have even been collecting these moments in kindness jars. Please take a moment to ask your child about the acts of kindness they have taken part in or witnessed this week.

On the sporting front, our learners continue to excel. Volleyball has been a key focus, and it is quickly growing in popularity amongst our secondary learners. Our first ever Under 19 team represented Nadeen in the senior sports league, our Under 15 boys secured bronze, and the Under 15 girls narrowly missed a medal, finishing in fourth place. We are extremely proud of all our teams and their dedication and resilience.

The annual Nadeen Family Fun Run is fast approaching on Saturday 8 November. This is a little reminder to register if you have not yet done so. Please do not worry about being the fastest runner, you can walk, jog, or simply come along to cheer and enjoy the day.

To end the week, primary learners have enjoyed creative Halloween activities and a fantastic parade with their families. The costumes showcased across both primary and secondary were a testament to the imagination and skills our learners continue to develop. It was particularly special to see staff and parents join in, highlighting the strong sense of community that makes Nadeen unique.
