Supporting All Brains: Our Commitment to Inclusive Education at Nadeen School

by Ms. Emma Pickering.

At Nadeen School, inclusivity isn’t just a principle, it is who we are at the very core of our school. We embrace the motto “Grow together, Thrive as one,” as our commitment to believing every learner and parent and colleague deserves a warm, supportive, and enriching environment where they feel seen, heard, valued, and celebrated for who they are. For each learner, no matter their starting point or the challenges they face, we are committed to helping everyone to thrive. Our Nadeen Wolf mascot reminds us every day about the importance of belonging and working together to meet our number one goal of supporting all learners and their families to feel a deep sense of belonging to our Nadeen Family.

To make this a reality, we invest in our teams, providing them with ongoing professional development to ensure they have the tools and confidence to support every learner in their own unique ways. Our latest initiative is training our colleagues in how to create the most inclusive learning environments possible! This involves collaborating and reimagining what is possible. Our Supporting All Brains professional development is a specialised training programme that brings our educators together in small groups to explore research-based strategies for meeting diverse learning needs. From neurodivergent learners to those requiring unique support, this hands-on approach empowers our educators to create truly inclusive classrooms where every learner can succeed.

“The training has been fantastic. It was such a good opportunity to learn strategies but also discuss ideas with colleagues who I do not often work with on a daily basis.” Hannah Sultan – Phase Leader of Upper Primary

Our investment in continuous training ensures that:

  • Team Nadeen are equipped with the latest knowledge on inclusive teaching strategies and resources, allowing them to adapt their lessons and learning environments to meet different and unique learning needs.
  • Our Nadeen Learners receive personalised support, whether they require additional guidance, enrichment opportunities, or different learning opportunities.
  • Nadeen’s culture of understanding and acceptance is strengthened, fostering an environment where differences are celebrated, and every learner feels a sense of belonging.

The training was really interesting. It was so beneficial to see how we as educators can make the classroom setting more inclusive for learners. The training was filled with strategies that can be used and it was well explained which makes it easier to strategise ideas into a learning environment or lesson.” Jack Parry – Specialist Coach on Nadeen’s Inclusion Team

Supporting Neurodivergent Learners with Compassion

We recognise that neurodivergent learners, including those with autism, ADHD, dyslexia, and other diverse cognitive profiles, have unique strengths and challenges. Our compassionate community at Nadeen ensures that these learners receive tailored support, flexible learning approaches, and a deeply empathetic environment that allows them to Wonder, Observe, Learn, Flourish (WoLF). Through training our teams, collaboration between our fantastic educators, and our unwavering commitment to the success of every learner, we create pathways for neurodivergent learners to succeed academically, socially, and emotionally. This is what makes Nadeen so unique!

A Community Effort

Inclusivity is not just about what happens in the classroom at Nadeen; it is a collaborative effort involving our learners, our parents, and our educators. We invite you, our valued parents, to partner with us in this journey by talking to us openly, attending our workshops, and providing feedback to help us continuously improve our approach. We really value the unique perspectives you bring to our Nadeen family.

At Nadeen, we are proud to be a school that champions diversity and inclusion. By prioritising the professional growth of our educators through Supporting All Brains Training, we are reinforcing our commitment to creating an educational experience that truly supports every learner’s journey.

Thank you for being a part of our beautifully inclusive Nadeen family. Together, we can continue to make Nadeen School a place where all learners thrive. Please contact e.pickering@tbw.hmu.temporary.site if you would like to participate in a parent session on Supporting All Brains. Together, we can grow our understanding and build an even stronger inclusive community.
